Piano Fellows
The Gabriela Montero Piano Lab is open to pianists worldwide of 18 years old and above. Conceived as a compliment to other training programs and education, the Piano Lab gives Fellows rare insight into the life, career challenges, and decision-making journey of a leading concert soloist.

Eden Chen "enthralls audiences with fingers that dance."(Leeds) A Juilliard graduate awarded its largest Commencement prize, he has performed in Stern Auditorium, Wigmore Hall, and Pritzker Pavilion and with Lang Lang, Isabel Leonard, and Timothy Chooi. Eden orchestrally debuts at Carnegie Hall in 2025 with the Chamber Orchestra of New York.

Argentinian-Polish pianist Gastón Frydman received praise from audiences and critics alike. Represented by MUCHIMUSIC artists, he has performed with prestigious orchestras and in venues in Buenos Aires, Vienna, Salzburg, Geneva, NYC, and HK. A graduate of Cleveland, he studies with Horacio Gutiérrez in Manhattan and is mentored by Gabriela Montero.

Onutė Gražinytė has performed with Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, Orchestre National de Lyon, Sinfonieorchester Basel, and CBSO. In addition to playing solo, she is a passionate chamber musician. Her CD “Lamentate” earned praise from BBC Music and Gramophone Magazines, and Arvo Pärt himself. In 2024, she won third prize at KlavierOlymp Bad Kissingen.

Boston-based pianist-composer Asiya Korepanova is passionate about performing complete works like Rachmaninoff’s complete piano music, Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, and Liszt’s 24 Etudes. Her compositions explore traditional forms through modern language. An author of many piano transcriptions, she’s also a visual artist, poet, organist, and entrepreneur.

Winner of the 2024 Concours International de Musique de Sorel-Tracy and 2023 Bader & Overton Piano Competition, pianist Jonathan Mak debuted with orchestra at age 4 and has since appeared as a guest soloist with ensembles like the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal. He is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at Rice University with Jon Kimura Parker.

Lithuanian-born pianist Kasparas Mikužis has performed at prestigious venues such as Concertgebouw Hall, Wigmore Hall, and the Lithuanian National Philharmonic. As a scholar of the Imogen Cooper Music Trust, he has collaborated with conductor John Wilson and received a letter of gratitude from the President of Lithuania in recognition of his work.

An enquiring and innovative artist, Élisabeth Pion leads an imaginative career as a soloist & artistic collaborator. Recent highlights include her nomination as Révélation Radio-Canada 2024/2025, the release of her 2nd CD with Arion & Lussier (ATMA Classique) as well as being awarded the 2nd prize of the 2024 Blanca Uribe International Competition.

Lithuanian pianist Gabrielė Sutkutė has been praised for her “acute musical intuition, impeccable sense of style and genuine charisma''. She has performed in prestigious venues throughout Europe, including Wigmore and Steinway Halls. For achievements in music, Gabrielė received Lithuanian Republic Presidents’ certificates of appreciation six times.

Pianist Joyce Yu enjoys an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, and artistic collaborator. Joyce has mesmerized audiences on renowned stages across the globe. She has frequently performed recitals in North America, Europe, and Asia, with her unwavering dedication and a profound love for music. She made her debut as a soloist at age 15.
Piano Lab 2024 Cohort

Born 1999, Viviana-Zarah is one of the most promising pianists of her time. She has performed on international stages such as Konzerthaus Berlin, Philharmonie im Gasteig, Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall and recently played her sold out debut concert with Shostakovich's 1st Piano Concerto in Goldener Saal, Musikverein in Vienna.

Katharina Hack (b. 1994, Cologne), described by the press as an "exceptional phenomenon with a powerful personality," performs in Europe and the US on stages such as the Cologne Philharmonie, Gasteig Munich, and Elbphilharmonie. She is a soloist and forms a duo with the cellist Anouchka Hack. Katharina has a passion for improvisation.

Anastasiya Magamedova began playing piano at age 5 in Tajikistan and is a graduate of the Juilliard School. She has performed in the Kammermusik Saal of the Berlin Philharmonic, Theatre of Digital Arts of Dubai, the Opera and Ballet State Theater of Tajikistan, Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Concert Hall, and Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin.

He has released his debut CD, and his performances were televised worldwide. For representing Lithuania on an international stage Kasparas was awarded a letter of gratitude by the president of Lithuania.

Élisabeth enjoys an imaginative life as a soloist, chamber musician & artistic collaborator. Recent highlights: first CD (ATMA Classique); 3rd prize - 2023 Rio Piano Festival; US concerto debut (Toledo Symphony & Trudel); 2022 Choquette-Symcox Award; 2021 Wigmore Hall debut. Her love for literature, composition & Tai Chi nurtures her music-making.

Ido Ramot is a sought-after Soloist and Chamber musician. Ido is a laureate of many international competitions and awards and performs regularly in some of Europe's most prestigious halls and festivals. Ido is extremely dedicated to bringing his love of improvisation to the stage and it's now an inseparable part of his artistic mission.

Named in “Canada’s Top 30 Under 30 Classical Musicians” by Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC), Victoria has toured with orchestras including Hong Kong Symphonia, Canadian Sinfonietta, New Brunswick Symphony, and Shenzhen Symphony. A graduate from Juilliard, she has been broadcasted on CBC, Radio Television Hong Kong, and Polskie (Polish) Radio.

She studied with Zhao Yi Dan and Gabriel Kwok. She studied at CIM with Antonio Pompa-Baldi, and she also did chamber music with Sharon Robinson and Ilya Kaler. Now she is pursing master’s degree with Jon Kimura Parker at Rice. She made her debut as a soloist at age 15 with Orchestra Napolinova in Italy. She was invited to PianoFest in the Hamptons.
