Powered by OAcademy, the residency marks the return of the Orchestra of the Americas to Mexico, joining forces with long-term partner and host Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey. The gathering brings together OAcademy Fellows from over 30 countries for a week of music-making, cultural exchange, and leadership development. Led by OAcademy’s Music Director Carlos Miguel Prieto, the residency culminates in a gala concert at Monterrey’s Teatro de la Ciudad on June 20th, featuring Grammy-winning, genre-defying violinist Charles Yang and Mexico’s leading timpanist Gabriela Jiménez, acclaimed for their bold artistry and dynamic performances.

OAcademy, in partnership with Filarmónica Joven de Colombia, presents Open Campus - an open enrollment festival of core experiences that make up the OAcademy journey. This year's edition is curated as a lead-up to the upcoming Orchestra Institute residency, featuring Rachmaninoff's 'Symphonic Dances' and Gabriela Ortiz's 'Voltaje'. All sessions are free to join online for registered participants.

The first Piano Lab residency for the 2025 Cohort brings together fellows from both sides of the Atlantic alongside their Mentor, Gabriela Montero. Fellows Asiya Korepanova (USA), Eden Chen (USA), Gabrielė Sutkutė (Lithuania), Onute Grazinyte (Lithuania), Kasparas Mikužis (Lithuania), and Joyce Yu (Hong Kong) spend an intensive few days learning, performing, experimenting, and discussing musical and life experiences.

Sheila joins Maestro Rodolfo Saglimbeni and la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Chile, marking the beginning of a new partnership between OAcademy and Centro de Extensión Artistica y Cultural, Universidad de Chile.

Composing Fellows will be workshopping their solo compositions with professional performers Juliette Kang (First Associate Concertmaster, Philadelphia Orchestra), Clara Warnaar (Vibraphone, International Contemporary Ensemble) and Zachary Feingold (Bassoon, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia).

Ajda joins the NYOI as principal piccolo for their '24 Winter tour thanks to OAcademy's partnership. The National Youth Orchestra, conducted by Jessica Cottis and joined by soloist Niklas Liepe, presents a New Year Gala Concert, featuring Shostakovich’ Symphony No 10, and the national premier of Rachel Portman’s Tipping Points for orchestra, violin and text.

Conducting Fellow Kelly Lam joins Maestro Cládio Cruz and Orquestra Sinfônica Jovem do Estado de São Paulo to perform Beethoven's 9th Symphony. This marks the beginning of a new partnership between OAcademy and Santa Marcelina Cultura in Brazil.
