OAcademy fills in the missing pieces of a career puzzle for rising musicians from around the world

"The realities of the music profession are never mentioned. Rather, myths are built up."

- David Burge -

The rise of OAcademy

The performing arts world is changing rapidly, yet many institutions are reluctant to adapt to shifts in the sector. Music instruction has increasingly lost touch with how to effectively prepare graduates for real-world career success. And access to elite-level training at top conservatories is often limited to those with the means to live in large urban centers.

OAcademy was created to reinvent the relationship between music education and the demands of the real world. We bring together the sharpest minds, foremost mentors and leading global institutions to nurture the talent of tomorrow by providing a carefully curated toolkit to succeed in an ever-changing field.

Our vision

OAcademy is building a world where location is no barrier to world-class education, and where circumstance is not an obstacle for artists to build thriving careers. Our vision is to democratize access to world-class music training through the power of digital education.

Our approach

OAcademy’s unique approach harnesses the power of peer learning — empowering a Juilliard student in New York and a rising musician in Haiti to collaborate side-by-side in masterclasses with top international artists.

Our approach connects global perspectives with local homes — enabling an orchestral class with a leading conductor, a virtuoso workshop with a violin superstar, and an improvisatory masterclass with a Grammy-winning jazz legend to occur within the same week of digital learning for fellows.

OAcademy builds creative artistry — where collaborative recording projects with icons like Yo-Yo Ma take place alongside small team assignments pairing fellows across countries.

This unique approach to learning helps OAcademy graduates stand out, succeed, and impact the world around them.

Our lasting impact

By preparing exceptional talents to take on real world career and personal development opportunities, OAcademy graduates win auditions, continue education at prestigious academic programs, or start their own successful community projects. The results speak for themselves.

96%

of graduates say the experience
meets and exceeds expectation

100%

report an enhanced mindset

"Classical schools will be forever beholden to the dwindling number of orchestras unless they adopt a broader view of music as their driving curriculum. We must become innovators, before we fossilize."

Our evolution

OAcademy reflects two decades of experience and network building by The Orchestra of the Americas preparing 1000+ orchestral musicians to occupy top jobs around the world — combined with the know-how of eight years implementing Ivy League-curated online entrepreneurship training by The Global Leaders Program.

This background is just the start.  OAcademy is constantly adapting, expanding and strengthening our learning tools to meet the needs of a world transforming. By keeping our eyes open and reacting quickly, OAcademy is working to ensure that graduates — today and in the future — are ready to excel.

The result is a
constantly evolving digital training platform, as efficient as it is effective.
