The Fellowship is designed to support conductors who aspire to become ‘complete’ musicians who value integrity and depth of musicianship. Our Fellows see themselves as leaders-in-training who are developing a vision for the future of classical music.
Conducting Fellowship 2026 Cohort
Eva Carizza (Eva Casado Ariza) is a multi-award winning conductor, violinist, and singer. She is as a university professor and holds a MM in Conducting and Violin from the University of Florida and a DMA in Violin with cognate in Conducting from the University of Miami. She conducts professional and student orchestras, mostly in Spain and the US.
Jonathan DeBruyn grew up in Lake Oswego, Oregon. He is the Music Director of the Sunnyside Symphony, and the Artistic Director of the Salem Philharmonia. He is a former American Austrian Foundation Fellowship winner, and recipient of the Franke/Altman Young Violinist Award. He is the son of composer Randall DeBruyn.
Swiss conductor Christian Erny appears with many European orchestras and has gained attention through world premieres and highly acclaimed recordings. Founder of the Zurich Chamber Singers and three-time German Record Critics’ Award nominee, he has conducted in many prestigious halls and festivals.
Isaac is the conductor for the Phantom of the Opera North American Tour. His arranging and conducting credits include National Theatre (London), Sydney Theatre Company, Opera Australia, New Zealand Opera, San Diego Symphony, Sydney Symphony and Broadway; and his honors include a Mike Walsh Fellowship, a Sydney Theatre Award, and a Helpmann Award.
Korbinian Krol is a German conductor based in Denmark, where he is part of the elite program Dirigentløftet. Through his studies he collaborates regularly with professional orchestras in the region. He previously studied conducting in Oslo, singing in Zurich and church music in Freiburg. 2025 he was part of the Riccardo Muti Opera Academy.
Sara Miranda is an Assistant Professor of Music at Mississippi State University, where she leads the orchestra program, teaches violin, and works with the Jacket Strings Program. Her work focuses on expanding access to music education and fostering cognitive skills. She has DMA in violin and minor in cognitive science from the University of Arizona.
Carlos Montoya is a Colombian cellist and orchestral conductor, holding a Master’s degree in Music with emphasis in Orchestral Conducting from EAFIT University. He serves as Associate Director of the Estudio Polifónico de Medellín and Principal Cellist of the Antioquia Departmental Orchestra. He collaborates with leading orchestras in Colombia.
Costa Rican conductor focused on social impact and inclusion. Has worked with professional, youth, and community ensembles in CR and the U.S.; Cabrillo & NOI alum; Taki Alsop mentee. Recipient of the National Music Award of CR and The American Prize in Conducting. Graduated from the National Institute of Music of CR, The Boston Conservatory and UT.
Francisca Vera Torres (Chile) is an emerging conductor recognized for her disciplined preparation, musical insight, and expressive leadership across operatic and symphonic repertoire. Trained as a pianist and researcher, she specializes in music by women composers and promotes inclusive, research-based performance practices.
Philipp Vitkov is a German conductor and pianist currently based in Los Angeles. From an early age, he has been deeply committed to conducting, having assisted in and conducted numerous symphonic and operatic projects. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Orchestral Conducting, he continues his artistic development at the Colburn School.
Rachel Waddell, Director of Orchestras at CSU and Music Director of the Longmont Youth Symphony, is a nationally and internationally recognized conductor. Honored by the American Prize and Grammy Music Educator Award, she has led major U.S. ensembles, debuted in Vienna and Canada, and champions ensemble artistry as a catalyst for community.
Bryen Warfield is a sought-after conductor, clinician, and adjudicator having conducted orchestras and bands throughout the United States and Canada. He has studied with Esa-Pekka Salonen, Hugh Wolff, Donald Thulean, Kevin Sedatole, Kevin Noe, John Lynch, Robert Franz, Robert Ambrose, Kimcherie Lloyd, and Thomas Caneva.
A historically informed performance (HIP) specialist conductor, fortepianist, harpsichordist, concert producer, and music editor and engraver, Han Zhao has produced, conducted, and performed in multiple projects worldwide, including his concert series ‘Classical Spirit in Romantic Music’. He is currently studying HIP at the Royal Academy of Music.

Iliia Diakov, an award-winning conductor and violinist, graduated from Saint Petersburg Conservatory. Was a violinist in Mariinsky theatre for 13 years and a Chief Conductor of Saint-Petersburg Orchestra 1703 for 8 years. Guest conductor in Kyrgyzstan and Bulgaria. Currently based in Bratislava, he performs with the SND Theatre.
Kristine Dizon is a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow at Concordia University, is an acclaimed clarinetist and conductor. She has taught and performed globally, served on international juries, and released award-winning albums. Holding a PhD from Universidade Catolica Portuguesa, she is also a Fulbright and FCT Scholar.
Yonatan Dvir is a conductor and composer based in Rochester, NY. He is pursuing an M.M. in Orchestral Conducting at the Eastman School. He holds a B.M. in Composition, and a diploma in Trombone Performance from the Milan Conservatory. His mentors include Neil Varon, Andreas Delfs, Jerry Hou, José Luis Domínguez, Anthony Parnther, and Tito Muñoz.
Bartu, conductor, violinist & composer born in 2003, made his conducting debut at 15 conducting Mozart’s 29th & his 1st Symphony while playing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto. A European Climate Pact Ambassador and protégé of Maestro Casadesus, he holds a Master’s with highest honours from the Paris Conservatory and École Normale de Musique de Paris.
Bianca Maretti is an American-Brazilian conductor based in Paris. She has led orchestras such as the Orchestre symphonique de Québec and the Athens Philharmonia Orchestra, and conducted notable projects including the album Dali (Passerelle). She is currently engaged in multiple initiatives at the Philharmonie de Paris.
Conductor and composer from Mexico with training at Berklee College of Music, the New England Conservatory, and NYU, specialized in Film music and traditional Mexican music.
He has participated in more than 25 film productions, several of which have been recognized by specialized critics.
Born and raised in South Korea, Jinhee Park is a New York-based pianist and conductor whose work spans art song, chamber music, opera, and orchestral repertoire. An award winner at the Schubert LiedDuo and Concours musical international de Montréal, she is a DMA candidate at Juilliard, devoted to creating human connection through music.
Leanna Puttick is an Australian-Chinese conductor based in Australia. She debuted in 2020 conducting The Nightingale with West Australian Opera. After training with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, in 2024 Leanna was a finalist for The Australian Ballet’s Conducting Fellow and assisted on The Rite of Spring at the Bolzano Dance Festival, Italy.
Costa Simpson is a conductor from New Zealand living in London. He is a postgraduate student at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland, and a graduate of the University of Auckland. Costa is a former fellow of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra's Fellowship in Conducting and was a participant in the 2024 Järvi Academy.
Lucia is a Slovak conductor based in the UK and working with both youth orchestras and professional ensembles such as the Orchestra of the Welsh National Opera. In 2022-23 Lucia was the Assistant Conductor at the David Seligman Opera Studio and in August 2024 she won the Audience Award at the International Conducting Competition in Baugé-en-Anjou.
Now Studienleiter/Kapellmeister in Luzern, Jesse Wong conducts countless operas from the standard and modern canon (Mozart, Puccini, Donizetti, R. Strauss, Bartok, Verdi, Britten, Tchaikovsky, Janacek, Knussen, Elliott Carter). Highlights as a professional repetiteur include full productions of Wagner's Ring Cycle and Alban Berg (Wozzeck and Lulu).
Tammy S. Yi is a first-gen Korean American conductor and scholar whose work bridges orchestral performance and pedagogy. Based in Los Angeles, she is the conductor of the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles. Her career is dedicated to harnessing the power of music for transformative social activism, empowering young people through the performing arts.

Shutong Chen, a Chinese conductor, has collaborated with several music groups, including the China Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Sinfonietta, the Lanzhou Symphony Orchestra and the Xiamen University Symphony Orchestra. She has founded the Liuxiang Chamber Orchestra and Choir, which is dedicated to exploring and performing diverse music.
Sheila del Bosque Fuentes is a Cuban multi-award-winning flutist, conductor, composer, and educator. She is proudly a Haynes artist, Jazz Committee Chair of the National Flute Association, and professor at Interlochen Center for the Arts. She holds a B.M and an M.M from Berklee College of Music in Film Scoring, Performance and Conducting.
Mexican-born artist Eduardo de la Vega Garza has cultivated his musical expertise at The Juilliard School and Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey. Guided by esteemed conductors such as Jeffrey Milarsky, Pierre Vallet, and Jorge Mester; Eduardo has collaborated as pianist, conductor and educator with some of the most influential artists and ensembles worldwide.
Israeli Austrian conductor Orr Guy graduated RNCM in 2018, shortly after he was appointed as PSM’s musical director. In 2021 he won 1st prize in Citta di Brescia conducting competition. Since 2022 he is Nova Orchester assistant conductor. In 2023 he participate Domaine Forget and was chosen by Yannick Nezet Seguin to conduct Orchester Metropolitain
Kelly Kawai Lam served as Assistant Conductor for Mozart’s Don Giovanni at Prague's Estates Theatre in 2023. She was a Conducting Fellow with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra under JoAnn Falletta for the 2021-2022 season. She is gratefully mentored by David Angus of Boston Lyric Opera and holds degrees from Mannes, Cambridge and Harvard.
Born in Puebla, Mexico, Marzal started his studies in music at the age of 5. At 10 years old, he started his studies in violin. He obtained his Bachelor in Music in UDLAP, and his Masters and Professional Studies in Conducting in Manhattan School of Music in NYC. He has been Assistant Conductor in Bergen Philharmonic, NAS and Master Choral in NYC.
Born and raised in Yunnan, Sally Mingyan Yu is a rising conductor. Yu completed her education at Cornell University, Columbia University, and New England Conservatory. She turned her passion for classical music into lifelong career pursuit in 2018. She is currently a doctoral student in orchestral conducting at Michigan State University.
Timothy Morrow is a conductor, composer, and pianist from Basking Ridge, NJ, USA. He holds bachelors degrees in piano and composition from Westminster Choir College, and is currently working on a masters in conducting at Bard Conservatory. Timothy also enjoys singing in the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir and working as an amateur cellist.
Malcolm Parson is best known for his work as a member of both Turtle Island Quartet and Carolina Chocolate Drops.
Jorge Ernesto Reséndiz García studied orchestral conducting with Gabriela Díaz Alatriste and currently to maestro Pablo Varela. Works in the management of the Guri project. In 2023 was an assistant to maestro Pablo Varela in the Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico.
Colin Roshak is a conductor, clarinetist and entrepreneur. He is a proud student of Richard Hawkins, Tim Weiss, James Bagwell, Kai-Yun Lu and Craig Hay. He practices Dalcroze eurythmics, meditation and is trying to get better at running. His day typically begins with green tea and his mind often drifts to the Chugach mountains.
Jorge Rodríguez started his musical studies in piano and percussion. In 2018, he started his studies of solo and chamber music in Antwerp, Belgium. He is currently studying orchestral conducting with Ivo Venkov, and opera repertoire with Federico Santi. He has participated in masterclasses with Neeme Järvi, René Gulikers, Geoffrey Spratt, and Robert Houlihan.
