He has participated in many orchestras and music festivals in Colombia and abroad. Currently, he is a violinist in the Kunming International Philharmonic Orchestra in China. Pablo Benitez Nardin Violin | Argentina Pablo Benitez Nardin is an Argentinian violinist from Posadas, Misiones. A graduate of the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colon where he studied with Freddy Varela Montero, Pablo has performed with a range of well-known Argentinian orchestras and ensembles including the Orquesta Estable del Teatro Colon and the Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival. Imogen Brewer Violin | United Kingdom Imogen Brewer is a British violinist currently studying for her Master’s with Ofer Falk at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is originally from North Yorkshire, and attended St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh before completing her Bachelor’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music with Sophie Langdon. Imogen co-led the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland in 2018. Roger Campos Violin | Venezuela & Argentina Roger Campos is a Venezuelan violinist from Coro, where he began musical studies in the Sistema de Orquestas. He was a member of Venezuelan orchestras in Coro and Mérida. Currently, he lives in Argentina and studies music at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, in addition to performing as a substitute violinist in the Mendoza Philharmonic Orchestra and Universidad Nacional de Cuyo Symphony Orchestra. Erika Castillo-Gonzalez Violin | Canada Erika Castillo-Gonzalez is a violinist from Montreal, Canada. Fascinated by the violin at a very young age, she only began her music education in high school. Her love for the violin allows her to progress at an exceptional speed. She holds a Master’s degree from the Université de Montréal. Through the desire to share music, Erika also discovered a passion for teaching. Luis Estrada Violin | Mexico Luis Estrada is a Mexican violinist from Veracruz who is passionate about classical and folk music. A graduate of the Facultad de Música de la Universidad Veracruzana where he studied with Ilya Ivanov and Félix Alanis, Luis is currently pursuing Master’s degree in performance at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Oscar Gutiérrez Violin | Colombia Oscar Gutiérrez is a Colombian violinist with a passion for youth music education. A graduate of the Conservatorio del Tolima, where he currently teaches, he is Principal Second Violin with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Conservatorio del Tolima and Universidad del Tolima. He has participated in Filarmónica Joven de Colombia and music festivals in Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico. Petra Maestre Violin | Venezuela & Colombia Petra Maestre is a Venezuelan violinist from Yaracuy who is passionate about education. Petra was trained through El Sistema and the Latin American Violin Academy in Caracas, where she studied with Sergio Celis and Jose Francisco del Castillo. She coordinates a music education project for migrant and vulnerable children in Bogota, Colombia. Andrés Mendieta Violin | Nicaragua Andrés Mendieta is a Nicaraguan violinist, who is completing his Bachelor studies at the University of Costa Rica. He has been part of orchestras including the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Costa Rica and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Heredia, with which he has performed multiple concerts and recordings. Juan Mendoza Violin | Chile Scholarship by La Fundación Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles Juan Mendoza is a Chilean violinist from Cañete. A graduate of the Escuela Clásica de Cañete where he studied with Camila Morgado, Juan currently studies with Denis Kolobov. He has performed with a range of well-known Chilean ensembles including the Chamber Orchestra of the Huilo Huilo Music Festival, where he played as soloist with members of the Brussels Philharmonic. Marienn Sánchez Violin | MexicoScholarship by Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey Marienn Sánchez is a Mexican violinist, recently appointed as Concertmaster of La Super Orquesta de la ESMDM. She is an alumna of The Orchestra of the Americas and a member of Cuarteto Deneb. She is a graduate of the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey and is a Violin Professor at Sistema de Orquestas Municipales de Apodaca. Valeria Sistos Violin | Mexico Valeria Sistos is a Mexican violinist. She graduated from Conservatorio de las Rosas where she studied with Alessandro Orso. She has performed with orchestras and ensembles internationally. Currently, Valeria studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig with Prof. Erich Höbarth. Andrei Valerin Violin | Costa Rica Andrei Valerin is a violinist from Costa Rica, born and raised in San Jose, where he first started playing the violin at the Instituto Nacional de la Música at the age of five. Andrei has studied at the Universidad de Costa Rica and at the Musikhochschule Lübeck in Germany with Elisabeth Weber. In his free time, he enjoys photography and reading. Luis has participated in several chamber music festivals including the Ottawa Chamber Fest. Mirna Monclova Viola | Puerto Rico Mirna Monclova is a Puerto Rican violinist and violist. She started her music studies at age 5 in El Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico. Mirna graduated from Lynn Conservatory of Music where she studied with Ralph Fielding, receiving a Bachelor of Music in viola performance. In addition to music, Mirna has many other artistic interests including voice acting, advertising, and audiovisual productions. Lilian Sifontes Viola | Cuba Lilian Sifontes is a Cuban violist who lives in Mexico. She is a graduate of the University of Art in Cuba (ISA), and currently Principal Viola in the Eduardo Mata Youth Orchestra. She has performed as a soloist, and with chamber and orchestral ensembles in performed in United Stated, Europe, Mexico, and Cuba with the UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra, Mozarteum de la Habana, and others. Luis Hernández Cello | Mexico Luis Hernández is a Mexican cellist from Monterrey, Mexico. He studied with Cástulo Conde Jiménez, and is currently a student at the Vida y Movimiento School of Music with Marta Fontes. He performed as Principal Cellist in the Young Artist Chamber Orchestra and was part of the Ollin Yoliztli Youth Symphony Orchestra. Nancy Olivares Cello | Mexico Scholarship by Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey Nancy Olivares is a Mexican cellist who is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at ESMDM. She was a First prize winner at the National Cello Competition and is a semi-finalist in the Young Classical Musician Competition. Nancy has participated in masterclasses with Edison Pashko, Roman Jablonski, Jakob Spahn, Efe Baltacıgil, Jesús Castro-Balbi, DaXun Zhang, and others. Alanis Pérez Cello | Mexico Scholarship by Fundación Azteca Alanis Pérez is a Mexican cellist with great passion and dedication for music. She is pursuing a degree in music with Pablo Tamés at the Conservatorio de Música del Estado de México. She has performed with ensembles including the Mexican Philharmonic Orchestra and the Mexico State Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. Cristhian Requejo Cello | Peru Cristhian Requejo is a cellist from Lima, Peru. He began his music studies with Sinfonía por el Perú and is currently pursuing a degree at the National University of Music. Cristhian holds the position of Principal Cello in the Youth Orchestra Sinfonia por el Perú. Alonso Restrepo Cello | Colombia Scholarship by Filarmónica Joven de Colombia Alonso Restrepo is a cellist from Cartagena, Colombia who he enjoys teaching music to the youth of his city. He is a graduate of Northwestern State University of Louisiana where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance and Industrial Engineering, and Louisiana State University where he completed his Master’s in Cello Performance with Dennis Parker. Isaac Reynaga Cello | Mexico Scholarship by Fundación Azteca Isaac Reynaga is a Mexican cellist from San Luis Potosi. Isaac is very sociable, empathetic, but most of all emotional. A graduate of the Longy School of Music of Bard College where he studied with Francisco Vila Haas, Isaac has performed with ensembles across Mexico, Canada, USA, and Ecuador. Currently, he is pursuing a Master's in Music at the Longy School of Music. Ileana Rivera Cello | El Salvador Ileana Rivera is a Salvadoran cellist living in San José, Costa Rica. She has a great passion for contemporary music and music education. She is a graduate of the Universidad de Costa Rica where she studied with Elena Kharina. Ileana currently plays as a section cellist with the Sinfónica de Heredia and with the Sinfónica de la Universidad de Costa Rica. Miguel Amortegui Double Bass | Colombia A native of Cundinamarca, double bassist Miguel Amortegui studied with Edgar Alarcón and is currently finishing his undergraduate studies with Ligia Perilla. Miguel has participated in the National Symphony Orchestra (Colombia) and will soon participate in the 5th edition of the Latin American Orchestra. Javier Barreto Olaya Double Bass | Colombia & United States Double bassist Javier Barreto Olaya studied music education at the Conservatorio del Tolima with Edgar Alarcón and received his Master's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi with Marcos Machado. He has participated in masterclasses with Catalin Rotaru, Thierry Barbé, Gabriele Ragghianti, and Alex Hanna. Currently, Javier is pursuing a DMA at the University of Nebraska with Dr. Hans Sturm. Sofia Leal de Leon Double Bass | Mexico Scholarship by Fundación Azteca Sofia Leal de Leon is a Mexican double bassist from Reynosa. She graduated from the University of Texas Rio Grade Valley where she studied with George Amorim. She has participated in music festivals in Mexico, the United States, and Canada, including the Vancouver Symphony Institute, National Music Festival, and OSIM, among others. Currently, she studies at the Conservatoire Saint-Maur. Jonathan Rivera Double Bass | Mexico Jonathan Rivera is a Mexican double bassist from Guadalajara. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree at the Universidad de Guanajuato with Rodrigo Mata. He has performed with several national orchestras and ensembles including the Orquesta de la Universidad de Guanajuato and Mushamukas Bass Ensemble, as well as abroad in Chile and the United States. Mauricio Rodríguez Double Bass | Costa Rica A native of Costa Rica, double bassist Mauricio Rodríguez began his studies at Sistema Nacional de Educación Musical. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree at the University of Costa Rica. Taisho Saquicoray Murga Double Bass | Peru A native of Peru, Taisho Saquicoray Murga is a member of the Youth Orchestra of Sinfonía por el Perú, where he studies with Carlos Arrivillaga Martinez. He has previously studied at the National University of Music (Peru), and is in the process of applying for further post-graduate studies. Sulina Baek Flute | United States Born in South Korea, Sulina began studying piano at the age of 7 and flute at the age of 12. A graduate of Mannes School of Music and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, she is currently a Doctoral candidate at Hartt School. Sulina has been playing with The Orchestra Now, Montclair Symphony Orchestra, Chelsea Symphony Orchestra, Astoria Choir Orchestra, and Loft Opera. Nicolás Frangiosa Flute | Argentina Nicolás Frangiosa is a flutist from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Winner of La Flauta Latinoamericana Flute Competition in 2020, Nicolás studied with Patricia Da Dalt, Amalia Pérez, and María Cecilia Muñoz. After graduating with honors from Conservatorio Manuel de Falla, he is currently pursuing a Master's in Performance at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts with Sarah Rumer. Bethany McLean Flute | United States Bethany McLean is an American flutist from Rochester, NY. She has degrees in flute performance from Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Linda Chesis and Ithaca College where she studied with Joyce Catalfano and Wendy Mehne. Bethany is on the substitute musicians list for the Billings Symphony Orchestra and has performed with the Regina Symphony in Brooklyn, NY. Maria Navarro Flute | Spain A native of Spain, Maria Navarro is a Valencian flutist. She studied at CSMC while working as a flute teacher. In 2021, she had the opportunity to attend classes with Josephine Olech, Francisco López, and Joan Ibañez, among others. Currently, she is finishing her Bachelor's degree at PCC in Groningen. Maria is a very enthusiastic musician and loves to participate in creative projects. Marcos Nicolás Flute | Mexico Marcos Nicolás is a Mexican flutist from Nezahualcóyotl, Estado de México with a passion for teamwork. Marcos is currently pursuing a Master´s in Performance at Conservatorio Nacional de Música. He has performed with well-known Mexican ensembles including Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional and Ensamble Cepromusic. Marcos won the 3rd Anglo Arts - CMF Scholarship, which allowed him to study in London. Sebastian Rodriguez Mora Flute | Chile Sebastian Rodriguez Mora is a Chilean flutist from Valdivia, passionate about musical performance and teaching. He graduated from the IMUC of Pontificia Universidad Católica where he studied with Guillermo Lavado. He has performed with Orquesta Filarmónica de Los Ríos, Orquesta Clásica del Maule, and Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Chile. He is currently a freelance musician and flute teacher. Marlenne Santos Lomelí Flute | Mexico Marlenne Santos Lomelí is a Mexican flutist from Monterrey, Nuevo León. She studies music at the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey with Luis Alfredo González and entrepreneurship at the University of Tecnológico de Monterrey. Marlenne has performed with OSIM, Philharmonic of Nuevo León, and Tecnológico de Monterrey Symphony, among others. Diego Burgos Oboe | Panama A native of Panama, oboist Diego Burgos completed his musical studies at the Narciso Garay Conservatory with Juan Castillo. Since 2019, Diego has performed on English horn and oboe with the National Symphony Orchestra of Panama. He is an oboe teacher at Fundacion Sinfonia Concertante de Panama and is a member of the INFINITUM Wind Quintet. Natalia Paredes Oboe | Mexico Scholarship by Fundación Azteca Natalia Paredes is from Guanajuato, Mexico. She began playing oboe at age 15, and studied at the Conservatorio de Música de Celaya. Luis Gallo Oboe | Colombia Scholarship by Filarmónica Joven de Colombia Luis Gallo is an oboist from Cartagena with a dream of organizing festivals for Colombian youth. A graduate of Northwestern State University of Louisiana, he is a doctoral student at Florida State University with Dr. Eric Ohlsson. Luis plays with Civitasolis Reed Quintet and regional orchestras, including the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of Filarmonica Joven de Colombia. Fielding Roldán Oboe | Guatemala & Mexico Born in Guatemala, Fielding began his formal music studies at the age of 11 at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música Germán Alcantara, where he studied with his father. He made his solo debut with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Guatemala. Currently, Fielding studies at the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico with Joseph Shalita. Liza Saracina Oboe | United States Scholarship by Columbus Indiana Philharmonic Liza Saracina is the Principal Oboist of the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and Third Oboe/English Horn of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra. She earned her BM at Indiana University studying under Linda Strommen, her MM at the Cleveland Institute of Music studying with Frank Rosenwein, and her AD from the University of Cincinnati studying with Mark Ostoich. Dunia Andreu Clarinet | Cuba & United States Dunia Andreu is a Cuban clarinetist with a keen interest in developing cultural bridges between her native country and foreign musicians. Dunia recently earned her Master's degree at Lynn University with Jon Manasse. She is an active music instructor based in South Florida. Additionally, she performs with South Florida Symphony Orchestra and other ensembles in the area. Isaac Beu Clarinet | United States Isaac Beu is an American clarinetist currently based in Portland, Oregon. He serves as the 2nd and E-flat Clarinetist with the Eugene Symphony Orchestra and Adjunct Professor of Clarinet at Linfield University. As a guest musician, he has recently appeared with the Oregon Symphony and Oregon Ballet Theatre. Isaac is a Conn-Selmer Endorsing Artist, and performs on Selmer Paris clarinets. Nicolás Guerrero Clarinet | Chile Nicolás Guerrero is a Chilean clarinetist from Frutillar with a passion for the environment and Latin American culture. A graduate of the Instituto de Música de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile where he studied with Francisco Gouet and David Medina, Nicolás is currently preparing to audition for a Master's program in France and to participate in international competitions. Karla Rodríguez Clarinet | Chile & Germany Karla Rodríguez is a Chilean clarinetist and a graduate of the Escuela Moderna de Música in Santiago. She has performed with Chilean ensembles including Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Juvenil, Orquesta Filarmónica de Santiago, and Orquesta Clásica del Maule. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Performance at HfMDK in Frankfurt am Main with Laura Ruiz Ferreres. José Ignacio Santos Clarinet | Dominican Republic & USA Scholarship by Fundación Sinfonía José Ignacio is a composer and clarinetist from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He graduated from Berklee College of Music where he studied Film Scoring and Clarinet Performance. There, he deepened his knowledge of performance, composition, orchestration, music technology, and composing for visual media, as well as improvisation and jazz language. Rubén Esparza Bassoon | Mexico Scholarship by Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey Rubén Esparza is a Mexican bassoonist. He is a graduate of Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey where he studied with Dr. Ashley Haney. Rubén has performed with professional ensembles in the Nort hof Mexico including Orquesta Sinfónica UANL, Orquesta de Cámara de Zacatecas, and the Orquesta Filarmonica del Desierto. Currently, he is principal bassoon of the Filarmonic Orquesta La Super. Alaíde Nájera Bassoon | Mexico Scholarship by Fundación Azteca Alaíde Nájera is a Mexican bassonist from Durango. She participated in the Esperanza Azteca program and in masterclasses with bassonists including Judith LeClaire, Sophie Dervaux, and Miles Manner. Alaíde has participated in music festivals including the Intensive Summer Course of DePaul University. Currently Alaíde studies at OECCh with Virya Quesada. Celso Alves French horn | Argentina & Brasil Celso Alves began studying French horn in 2010 with Fernando Morais at the Escola de Música de Brasília. He has worked with the Orquesta Sinfonica del Sodre and Orquesta Sinfonica de Florencio Varela. Currently, he performs with the Orquesta Estable de la Provincia de Tucumán in Argentina. Osvaldo Barbadillo French horn | Mexico Osvaldo Barbadillo is a French horn player from Mexico, who began his studies with private lessons in his hometown. He participated in various youth orchestras across Mexico and won a scholarship to study in the Carlos Chávez School Orchestra. He won first prize in the Mérida International Brass Festival Competition. Darío Bustos French horn | Chile Scholarship by La Fundación Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles Darío Bustos is a Chilean French horn player who is highly motivated to learn in order to grow both as a musician and as a person. He began his studies with Edward Brown, and has had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses, with various orchestras and ensembles, and with renowned conductors. Edwin Morel French horn | Dominican Republic Scholarship by Fundación Sinfonía Dominican French horn player Edwin Morel has participated in the Young Euro Classic in Berlin. He has performed with a number of pop singers from the Dominican Republic. Rony Sepúlveda French horn | Chile Rony Sepúlveda is a Chilean French horn player. He graduated from the University of Chile where he studied with Edward Brown. Rony recently became Principal Horn in the Orquesta de Camara de Valparaiso. He has also played with important orchestras across Chile, including Orquesta Sinfonica de Chile, Orquesta Filarmonica de Santiago, and Orquesta Clasica del Maule. Frida Cano Trombone | Mexico Frida Cano is a Mexican trombonist originally from Hermosillo, Sonora. She is a student at the Universidad Veracruzana where she studies with John Day. She has participated in ensembles including Orquesta de la Facultad de Música UV, Filarmonía, Ensamble de Alientos y Percusiones ISMEV, Orquesta Sinfónica ISMEV, Big Band JazzUV. She is a recipient of the Legacy Santander scholarship. Jorge Felipe Nieto Trombone | Spain & Netherlands Jorge Felipe Nieto is a Spanish trombonist from Zamora. He studied at CONSMUPA with Alberto Castelló, where he won the Ángel Muñíz Toca prize. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Maastricht Conservatory in the Netherlands. He has performed with orchestras including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Currently, Jorge is principal trombone with the Vratsa Symphony Orchestra. Léonard Pineault Deault Trombone | Canada Scholarship by CONCOURS - Orchestre symphonique de Montréal A soloist with the Orchestre Métropolitain among others, Léonard has also performed in many orchestras, including Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil, National Youth Orchestra of Canada, Orchestre de la Francophonie, and others. Winner of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal 2019 Concerto Competition, Léonard was a finalist of the 2020 OSM Competition. Zachary Haas Bass Trombone | United States Zachary Haas is an enterprising young American trombonist, educator, and activist. A graduate of Boston University and Yale School of Music, he is based in New England and appears frequently with ensembles such as Vermont, Hartford, and New Haven Symphonies, as well as New London Big Band, and is a substitute for New World Symphony. Maximiliano Paulsen Bass Trombone | Chile Scholarship by La Fundación Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles Maximiliano Paulsen is a native of Puerto Montt, Chile and is completing a Bachelor's degree at the Universidad de Chile. Alanna Ellison Harp | Canada Alanna Ellison is a professional harpist with a versatile performing and teaching career. She holds a Master's from McGill University where she studied with Jennifer Swartz, and a Bachelor's degree from University of Toronto where she studied with Judy Loman. Alanna has performed with Canadian orchestras including the Regina and Kitchener-Waterloo Symphonies and the NYOCanada. María Loría Valerín Harp | Costa Rica María Loría Valerín is a Costa Rican harpist that began her musical studies at Instituto Nacional de Música in 2009 with Ruth Garita Quesada. In 2018, she arrived at Columbus State University, where she is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Harp Performance with Susan Brady. She has performed with the Springer Opera House, Columbus Ballet, and the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra. Morgan Short Harp | United States Morgan Short is an American harpist pursuing her Master’s degree at New England Conservatory with Jessica Zhou. She has taken top prizes in numerous competitions including First Prize in the 2019 American Harp Society National Competition (Advanced Division). She has been praised by the Classical Voice of North Carolina as “exquisite” displaying “impressive virtuosity and expressive phrasing.” Christopher Alex Percussion | Brazil Christopher Alex is a Brazilian percussionist passionate about the arts, symphonic music, and marimba solos. In 2022, he finished his Bachelor's degree with Ricardo Bologna. He performed regularly with the Youth Orchestra of Guarulhos and has been a guest performer with OCAM, OSUSP, and the Municipal Music School Youth Orchestra. Francisco Morales Percussion | Mexico Scholarship by Fundación Azteca Francisco Morales is originally from Puebla, Mexico. He is a percussionist who is passionate about orchestral music and is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree at the Esperanza Azteca Higher Institute of Music with Victor Manuel Rojas. He has performed with the Puebla Youth Symphony and in the Braxican Brass Quintet. Naybeth Mora Percussion | Venezuela Naybeth Mora is a Venezuelan percussionist. She is a student at the Universidad de los Andes and the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music. She has performed with Tambores del Valle, which has participated in festivals including the Percussive Arts Society, and currently performs with the Catatumbo Percussion Ensemble that has won international music competitions. Sebastián Ramírez Percussion | Colombia Sebastián Ramírez is a Colombian percussionist. He studied at the National University of Colombia with Mario Sarmiento, Gabriel Galvis, Juan David Forero, and Federico Demmer.
